Industrial prototyping

Prototyping is a crucial stage in the development of any industrial product, and at Groupe ABCM we have made it one of our key areas of expertise.
Thanks to a dedicated infrastructure and a qualified team, we support our customers in the production of functional and precise prototypes tailored to their specific needs.

The Groupe ABCM is dedicated to providing prototyping solutions tailored to each project, whether it involves one-off parts or small series intended for qualification prior to mass production. Our prototyping expertise is based on in-depth mastery of traditional and digital machining techniques, complemented by the use of 3D printers. These technologies give us the ability to produce prototypes with a high level of precision, meeting our customers’ requirements in terms of performance, dimensions and functionality.

Our approach to prototyping is based on integrating machining constraints right from the design phase, ensuring a smooth transition towards series production. This approach not only validates the dimensional and aesthetic aspects of parts, but also optimizes their repeatability during mass production.

Comprehensive expertise in industrial prototyping

Traditional machining and numerical control for precise prototypes

The Groupe ABCM has cutting-edge machining equipment, able to produce single parts and complex prototypes by material removal. We use CNC machines with up to 5 axes, offering unparalleled precision for the manufacture of technical parts. This capability enables us to produce prototypes to exacting tolerances and complex technical specifications.

Our engineers work closely with customers to understand the specific requirements of each project, and ensure that the prototypes produced are perfectly aligned with expectations. This machining phase is crucial for testing the feasibility of concepts and making any necessary adjustments before going into production.

3D printing for prototyping

In addition to our machining capabilities, the Groupe ABCM uses 3D printers to produce prototypes by adding material. This technology makes it possible to rapidly produce parts to visualize the design before machining, or to carry out functional tests. 3D printing is particularly useful for quick iterations, enabling designs to be optimized on the basis of feedback from preliminary tests.

Our 3D printers exploit digital files directly from our customers’ design software, ensuring great flexibility in prototype production. This ability to create precise physical models from digital files drastically accelerates the development process, reducing the time needed to go from idea to final product.

Optimization and preparation for series production

One of the Groupe ABCM’s key strengths in prototyping lies in our ability to efficiently prepare the transition to series production. Each prototype we produce is designed with machining and manufacturing constraints in mind, guaranteeing repeatable production that is optimized in terms of costs and deadlines.

During the prototyping phase, we work closely with our customers to identify possible improvements and optimize the design for series production. This proactive approach reduces production costs, improves part quality and accelerates time-to-market.
